Title
Tennessee - The Leaf-Chronicle
Description
Established in 1808, the early forerunners of The Leaf-Chronicle were basic four page journals devoted to political news and advertising, which were distributed in the economically and culturally growing city of Clarksville. The title traces back to the merger of The Chronicle and Tobacco Leaf in the 1890, becoming The Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle. Eventually, the publication was purchased by Multimedia, Inc. in 1973 and had its named shorted to The Leaf-Chronicle after becoming a regional publication.
The Leaf-Chronicle has been recognized for the 2014 Best of Gannett’s awards for investigative journalism.
