According to its about page, The Bismarck Tribune, founded in 1873, serves as the official newspaper of North Dakota, Burleigh County and the city of Bismarck. The Tribune began publishing under its own publishing company, Bismarck Tribune Co., back in 1873 and still publishes under the same name today. In 1938, the Tribune was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in the public service category “for its news reports and editorials entitled, “Self Help in the Dust Bowl” – aimed at the some eight million farmers and Western citizen victimized by the Dust Bowl, according to Pulitzer.org.
